Panattoni is to build a warehouse facility spannign around 26,000 sqm for Bidfood in Łódź. The project will be developed on a build-to-own (BTO) basis and will serve as a central distribution warehouse for the HoReCa operator.
Bidfood is a distributor of food and services for the HoReCa sector, working with over 17,000 catering establishments, restaurant chains, restaurants and hotels. The distributor's range includes around 7,000 products, including meat, fish and seafood, fruit and vegetables, dairy products, bread, desserts, drinks, wine, packaging and household chemicals. The company already has a logistics network comprising 26 warehouse locations across Poland, and the new investment in Łódź will be its first central distribution warehouse.
"The project for Bidfood is an example of a bespoke investment, in which close cooperation with the client right from the concept stage plays a key role. This enables us to deliver a facility that fully meets the specific requirements of the food industry," says Katarzyna Kujawiak, Regional Managing Director for Central Poland & Greater Poland at Panattoni.
The facility will be equipped with solutions tailored to the distribution of food products, including refrigerated and frozen storage areas. The design also includes energy-efficiency measures, such as a photovoltaic installation and heat recovery systems. "The new distribution centre in Łódź will be a key element of our logistics infrastructure in Poland. We are focusing on solutions that will allow us to increase efficiency, optimise the supply chain and respond better to the needs of customers in the catering industry," says Sławomir Żegleń, Investment Manager at Bidfood.
The investment is located directly at the A1 motorway junction, within the administrative boundaries of Łódź. The development is part of the growing partnership between Panattoni and Bidfood in Poland. The operator already utilises space in ten of the developer's facilities across Poland, including in Gdańsk, Białystok and Lublin.
