Global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield has been appointed as a leasing agent for ECO City Katowice, an energy-efficient complex of office buildings under construction in Konduktorska Street in Katowice. This project combining offices and green areas with a total of 34,400 sq m of leasable space.

ECO City Katowice has strengthened the portfolio of Cushman & Wakefield. It is another office project developed in Katowice by the GPP Group, which is known as the first in Poland to construct energy-efficient office buildings with BREEAM Outstanding certification.

ECO City Katowice is a modern complex of four energy-efficient office buildings. Its environmental and energy-efficient features such as trigeneration (which generates electricity, heating, and cooling), photovoltaic panels for electricity generation and free cooling, energy recovery systems, gas heat pumps (to meet the peak demand for cooling) help bring down utility charges and achieve high energy efficiency. The buildings also feature innovative ventilation and air-conditioning systems that provide a significantly more comfortable and healthy work environment for occupants with direct impact on work productivity and lower disease incidence.

ECO SQUARE will be the heart of the complex. It will be a green recreational and chill-out zone which, together with a 800-metre-long walking path around the buildings and an outdoor amphitheatre, will occupy as much as 60% of the project’s site.

ECO City Katowice received BREEAM Outstanding precertification with a score of 94% at the concept stage, the best result for office and service buildings across the European Union.

Each of the seven-floor office buildings will have approximately 8,600 sqm of leasable space and a two-level underground car park. The complex will also provide a range of amenities and additional services such as green terraces affording a view of the centre of Katowice; underground parking facilities for cyclists (including changing rooms and showers); electric vehicle charging stations; a steam car wash, and a broad selection of services on the ground floor. “A three-level, semi-open coworking zone enabling a flexible approach to leasing will also be an interesting solution,” says Agata Jaśniak, Negotiator, Cushman & Wakefield.
