A new logistics park will be built in Ziar nad Hronom in central Slovakia by autumn 2023. The developer Contera will construct it here for € 22 million. The first big tenant is already assured too, it will be the electronics wholesaler Fast Plus, writes logistikadnes.sk.

The developer Contera will build a new logistics park in the town of Žiar nad Hronom, which is located in central Slovakia in the Banská Bystrica region. The largest tenant of the complex will be electronics wholesaler Fast Plus. According to the plan submitted by the company for the environmental impact assessment (EIA), the estimated investment costs for the construction of the complex are €22 million. They plan to start construction on the land near the R1 expressway in the third quarter of this year, with expected completion in the third quarter of 2023. 300 new jobs will be created here gradually.

According to the developer, the land for the future logistics park has a total area of almost 10 hectares. Fast Plus will use a logistics hall with an area of 25 thousand sqm in the first phase, with the possibility of expansion by another 15 thousand sqm. "The main advantage of the future Contera Park Žiar nad Hronom is its location practically next to the R1 to Banská Bystrica (40 km), which is connected with excellent transport accessibility. We anticipate increased demand from the end and 3PL users," said Svetozár Rohoň, Country Manager of Contera SK.

There will be so-called green facades on the hall, and the developer plans to install photovoltaic panels on the roofs to produce part of its consumption. In Žiar nad Hronom, as in all other parks in Slovakia, Contera is committed to buying only green energy, i.e. energy produced from renewable sources. The Žiar nad Hronom site will also include rest areas, electric car chargers, a drinking water well or rainwater reuse systems.
