Romanian developer One United Properties has purchased 5 hectares of land in Bucharest for a new mixed-use development in a deal worth €35 million. The company plans to develop One Cotroceni Towers, which will have a gross development value in the range of €400 million.
While the overall value of land transactions in Romania totalled €450 million during 2022, two-thirds of the traded volume was generated in Bucharest, mostly in the residential segment, according to Colliers Romania.
Romanian developer Genesis Property says it is committed to achieving zero carbon emissions for the buildings in its portfolio by 2030. This will be achieved by investments in energy efficiency and production from renewable sources.

Transactions of new office rental, relocation and pre-rental in Romania’s regional cities reached 70,393 sqm during 2022, which was 22% more than in 2021. Almost 90% of the lease deals were closed in cities that are university centres such as Iași, Cluj-Napoca and Timișoara, according to a report by Fortim Trusted Advisors.
Romanian private equity company Roca Investments has attracted RON 100 million (around €20 million) in new equity in a bid to expand its regional presence in the industry and agriculture field. The fund is also a controlling shareholder in key suppliers for the real estate industry.

SIDE GRUP, the Romanian distributor of cleaning and hygiene, has leased 1,500 sqm in CTPark Oradea Cargo Terminal. The deal was brokered by real estate consultancy JLL.
New appointments
M Core appoints Magdalena Kowalewska as the new Chief Operating Officer at LCP Properties, Poland. This comes at the same time that Krystian Modrzejewski has accepted a post as the Group Head of Expansion for Poland, where he will be responsible for realising the opportunity for land and asset acquisition in aid of portfolio growth. Michał Kloch was appointed as Cost Management Lead, Poland in the Project & Development Services team of Cushman & Wakefield with effect from 1 March. In his role, he heads a team of quantity surveyors and is responsible for oversight of construction costs during all project delivery phases and for preparation of cost analyses and reports.
