Prague's Smíchov railway station set for €215 million reconstruction

Two large railway stations in Prague are about to be modernised. After Masarycka station, Czech national railway infrastructure manager (SŽ – Správa železnic) is now looking for a construction contractor for the Prague-Smíchov station as well. The result will be wholly modernised tracks and platforms, extended underpasses under the whole station, and a new footbridge leading over the station and allowing barrier-free access to individual platforms. The construction implementation will take place between 2024 and 2027, the total cost amounts to CZK 5.2 billion (€215 million), says SŽ in a press release.

Prague's oldest train station to be rebuilt

Správa železnic (Railway Administration) has announced a tender for a contractor who will reconstruct Prague's oldest train station - Masarykovo nádraží - for CZK 3.2 billion (€134.6 million). The idea of the authority is that the contractor should be able to connect the historical spaces with contemporary architecture and at the same time that the comfort for passengers and trains should be significantly increased, according to the report by the Správa železnic.

Bucharest opens airport railway link

A new railway line connecting Bucharest’s main railway station Gara de Nord to the Henri Coanda International Airport has been inaugurated over the weekend. Trains depart every 40 minutes with a one-way trip taking about 20 minutes. The price of a one-way ticket is RON 4 (around €0.82).

P3 secures passenger train stop for Bucharest park

P3 Logistic Parks signed a collaboration protocol with the Regional Branch of Railway Transport for Passengers Bucharest (CFR Călători). The agreement grants train stops next to P3 Bucharest A1 park for the Regio and InterRegio trains circulating the route Bucharest - Videle and back. This new transport facility will allow P3 Bucharest A1’s tenants to recruit labour force from adjacent locations, on the route Roșiori - Videle - P3 Bucharest A1 - Basarab - Gara de Nord and back. Starting 21 September, P3’s park in Bucharest can be accessed also by train, from Gara de Nord or Basarab, in a 17-25 minutes trip.

Penta plans project next to Prague's main railway station

Penta, Sudop and Czech Railways are planning a new real estate project next to Prague's main railway station. The project would involve covering the railroad tracks between Španělská, Legerova and Vinohradská streets at the southern tip of the station, local daily E15 learned.

New leases

  • Echo Investment has signed lease agreements covering a total of almost 3.5 thousand sqm of space in Katowice's Face2Face Business Campus. The largest contract covered a space of 1.35 thousand sqm, which will be occupied by a Medicover clinic for the next few years.
  • GreenWay, a provider of electromobility solutions in Central and Eastern Europe, is to join the ranks of tenats of Łużycka Plus. The company has just moved in to a 1,850 sqm office. The building is now fully leased.
  • Sii Polska has extended its lease of almost 4,700 sqm of office space in the Metron office building in Warsaw until 2029. The company, which has been present in the building since 2011, is its largest tenant.

New appointments

  • Anna Vondrackova has joined the team of REassurance company as Senior Transaction Advisor in Prague. She has a solid background as a real estate lawyer and brings strong legal knowledge.
  • In September, Michal Berski took up the position of head of the warehouse sector at CBRE Poland. He has been with the company for over 10 years. In his new role, he manages strategy and the development of all business lines within the warehouse and industrial sector.
  • Slawomir Czarnecki is the new president of Grupa Muszkieterów and ITM Poland. He has replaced David de Bosschère. The new CEO is the owner of the Bricomarché shop in Świecie and has many years of experience in trade, as well as in the Group's internal structures.
