Prague moves ahead in new district development
The Prague City Council has approved the next step in the investment preparation of the mixed-use project at the corner of Durychova and Libušská Streets in Prague 4. The development managed by Pražská Developerská Společnost (PDS) is in the centre of the new city district Nové Dvory and above the new subway station on line D.

Prague rolls sleeves up in rental housing development
The permitting process has started for the first urban rental housing projects that PDS (Prague Development Company) is preparing for the capital city. Before the end of June 2024, PDS has submitted complete documentation and applications for building permits or zoning decisions for approximately 450 housing units.

Palmovka in Prague gets closer to transformation
The transformation of the so-called Pentagon in Palmovka district in Prague 8 has moved closer to reality. The Prague city deputies have approved a change to the city master plan this week, enabling the coordinated urban development of this area.

Prague to select contractor for EUSPA building
The Prague City Council has approved the intention to launch a tender for a contractor to be entrusted with the transformation of the unfinished torso of the Prague 8 City Hall building. The Nová Palmovka Centre will become the new European Space Research Centre (EUSPA). The city is preparing this project for the Ministries of Transport and Finance, with which it is cooperating intensively.

Prague approves construction of 300 PDS flats
The Prague City Council has approved the investment preparation of the Beranka residential project in Prague Horní Počernice. The construction of 300 flats on an area of 63,000 sqm is being prepared under the management of the Prague Development Company (PDS). Architectural competition and tenders are being prepared. PDS plans to build between 2025 and 2030.

Prague Development Company to build up to 8,000 flats by 2032
The City of Prague intends to provide rental apartments for firefighters, teachers, police officers and other necessary professionals in the next ten years with massive construction of public housing. Last year, the city established the Prague Development Company (PDS), which is to prepare construction on city plots, the municipality announced.

New leases
- Sirowa Poland has relocated its office in the revitalised mixed-use Centrum Praskie Koneser complex. The international distributor of cosmetic and pharmaceutical brands leased 958 sqm in Building P at the development, in a deal brokered by Savills.
- International fashion retailer Primark has opened its fifth Romanian store, spanning 3,185 sqm, at ElectroPutere Mall in Craiova, marking its debut in the country's south-west region. The launch follows a €10 million investment.
- Speedwell has secured four new medical tenants for its Paltim mixed-use urban project in Timișoara. Colegiul Medicilor Stomatologi - Filiala Timiș has leased approximately 105 sqm, with an opening scheduled for November 2026. Concurrently, Paul Bold Dental Solutions will open a 143 sqm dental clinic in November 2026. Ophthalmology clinic ArtVision Med & Sofilens Lux has occupied 172 sqm since January 2026. Lastly, Ziva, a dermatology, aesthetics, and gynaecology clinic, has taken 92 sqm and will officially open in July 2026.
New appointments
- Katarína Brydone, Jana Vlková and Vendula Maršová have been appointed as the first Equity Partners of Colliers’ Czech business. Brydone brings more than 20 years of experience in international real estate. Vlková has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate. Maršová, Partner and Head of Valuation and Advisory Services, brings more than 16 years of experience in real estate valuation and advisory.
- BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland has expanded its Industrial and Logistics Agency team with the appointments of Joanna Choromańska, formerly of JLL, and Bartosz Wilczyński, previously with CBRE. The new hires bring a combined 34 years of experience in sector sales, lease negotiations, and build-to-suit project delivery to support the division's ongoing growth.
- Speedwell has expanded its industrial and logistics team with the appointment of Valentin Achim as Leasing and Property Manager for Industrial Developments. Achim brings extensive experience in coordinating commercial and operational activities within the logistics and industrial sectors. In his new role, he will oversee the development and expansion of the company's Spaceplus platform.
