PRS in Poland seems to be pandemic-proof

The development of the Private Rental Sector (PRS) in Poland could have been faster, but it is constantly being slowed down by high demand in the residential market. Developers are not interested in selling the whole building to investment funds, because margins and profits are bigger with sales to individual buyers. However, their faith in high returns and great growth potential of Polish rental market is shared also by developers, which are constantly coping with a lack of good plots permitted for residential development in spatial plans. And buildings with services, like senior and student housing or apartments to rent as a service can be constructed almost everywhere.

Warsaw’s first Resi4Rent building secures occupancy permit

New leases

  • International sportswear brand Nike has chosen the Bonarka Shopping Centre in Kraków for the first location of its shop in the Nike Rise model. The retail space of the two-storey store is 1,000 sqm.
  • Poland's largest Monnari store has opened in the Serenada Centre in Krakow. The shop has an area of 605 sqm. Monnari is a Polish clothing brand. It has more than 200 stationary stores throughout Poland, as well as an online shop.
  • A McDonald's restaurant is joining the tenants of Nowa Sukcesja retail centre in Łódź. The 140 sqm restaurant will be located in the catering area, on the first floor.

New appointments

  • GTC Group appoints two people to head up its shopping centres in Poland Anna Borecka will take over as director of Galeria Jurajska in Kraków. Meanwhile, Marek Ciszewski will take the helm at Galeria Północna in Warsaw.
  • Anna Bartoszewicz-Wnuk joins the Velis Real Estate Tech team as Head of Central & Eastern Europe and will be responsible for the company's development in the CEE markets.
  • DVM group, an integrated architectural and construction services provider is restructuring its design department. Ákos Csécsei has been appointed to head the architectural design department and Tímea Fekete-Tóth to lead the interior design department. The managers have grown with the company, with multiple projects to their name.
