Rent prices for apartments in major Romanian cities rose on average by 8.7% in 2022 over higher demand, according to property platform Imobiliare.ro.

Prices will continue to grow this year due to the high inflation and changes in the taxation of rent income.

“Cluj remains the city with the highest rents for small apartments, while the capital maintains its supremacy for large apartments. Timișoara remains the most affordable regional centre in terms of rents as well, in relation to purchasingpower versus the cost of living," explains Daniel Crainic, Marketing Director of Imobiliare.ro.

Rent prices for studios start from €210 in Timișoara and reach €300 in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. For 2-room apartments prices range from €350 in Iași and Timișoara to €450 in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. For 3-room apartments, rents range from €400 in Timișoara to €600 in Bucharest.
