InPost has entrusted Prologis with the construction of a Build-To-Suit tailored warehouse and office facility with an area of 11,500 sqm in Prologis Park Ruda Śląska. InPost will move into the new DC3 building in September 2024. The transaction was brokered by Cushman & Wakefield.

“Customers can currently use over 22,000 Paczkomat® machines in Poland, and vitally, over 98% of parcels are delivered the next day after posting. Such large-scale operations require operational excellence and cooperation with professional partners. For this reason, we decided to entrust Prologis with the construction of a warehouse and office in accordance with our specific needs and requirements, in a location that perfectly complements our supply chain", says Michał Wróbel, Director of the InPost Courier Operations Division.

Located in a post-industrial area, Prologis Park Ruda Śląska boasts a convenient location just 9 km from Katowice city centre, close to the A4 motorway (Germany-Wrocław-Katowice-Kraków) and 10 km from the A1 motorway (Gdańsk-Katowice). As such, the park guarantees efficient distribution of goods at the local, national and international levels.

“Ever since the beginning of our cooperation, the mutual commitment of the two parties was clear to see, and the entire contracting process was carried out in a very positive atmosphere! I am extremely glad that InPost has placed its trust in Prologis and found its new home in Ruda Śląska”, says Katarzyna Nobis, Leasing & Customer Experience Manager at Prologis.

Prologis Park Ruda Śląska currently contains two buildings, with a total area of 63,000 square meters. The first investment at the park was a BTS warehouse covering 52,000 m2 for Raben. The second, a BTS warehouse with an area of 11,200 sqm was built for Kuehne+Nagel. The park has a total capacity for the construction of over 135,600 sqm of warehouse space.

“The BTS warehouse market in Poland is extremely competitive. The main advantages in the negotiation process are knowledge and experience, which translates into perfectly matching the investment to the individual needs of the client. Intermediating between a competent and forward-looking developer and a client-focused on quality and efficiency is a very valuable experience", summed up Kamil Żach, Associate and Key Account Executive in the Industrial and Logistics Agency.

Prologis Park Ruda Śląska features a wide range of solutions that increase operational cost-effectiveness while adhering to principles of sustainable development. Internal spaces in all buildings are adapted to NFPA requirements and designed for high storage (up to a level of 12.4 m). An advanced digital temperature control system (with three sensors at different heights for every thousand sqm), extends functions known from smart metering systems for remote utilities reading and control.

Warehouses are equipped with energy-saving, automated LED lighting systems of the highest quality, and co-packing zones feature a high share of natural daylight for enhanced working comfort. Like all newly constructed Prologis facilities, buildings are BREEAM-certified and adapted for rooftop solar installations. At the same time, green spaces feature a 50 kW photovoltaic installation, energy from which powers the park’s shared spaces and amenities.
