Penta Real Estate has announced the results of the architectural competition held last year for a new building in Hybernská Street in Prague, on the site of the former post office building. Seven invited teams from the Czech Republic and Slovakia have participated in the competition.

The original post office building on the corner of Hybernská and Opletalova streets has not served its former purpose for many years and has remained unused. A new building will be built on a plot of around 1600 sqm. This project is just nearby already started the general reconstruction of Masaryk station. New business premises will be created in the building's parterre, and office or coworking spaces are expected on the upper floors. The gross floor area of the building will be around 7300 sqm.

The first place in the competition is shared between the design of the studio OV Architekti and the design of architect Jakub Klaška. "The jury recommended for implementation a proposal by Jakub Klaška, who was part of the Zaha Hadid Architects team for many years, participated in the Masaryčka building and knows this location very well," explained Pavel Streblov, Business Director at Penta Real Estate.
