Nhood Services Hungary, the operator of Auchan hypermarkets in the country, will embark on the renovation of Auchan Korzó retail asset in Soroksár, Budapest.

Reconstruction will not affect the facade of the building, but the interior passages between stores, the restrooms and the food court will all be updated, and the latter will also be expanded with an outdoor section. In addition to new floor and ceiling coverings in the passages, the project will also add modern benches with electrical outlets for charging phones, new plant stands, and digital totem poles near entrances to display ads.

The rebuilt food court will be able to seat 250 customers. An area will be set aside for a temporary stage that will host various events. During reconstruction, an 82 sqm outdoor section seating 60 will be added to the food court on the southwest side of the building. Building engineering services and water pipelines will also be replaced, partly with more energy-efficient solutions.

The tenant mix will also change as three new restaurants (Pesti Pipi, Burger Konyha, and Grill Konyha) will open in the food court and a new café elsewhere in the building.

Using environmentally-friendly solutions was a key consideration during reconstruction, as the company views all its activities with respect to the threefold dimensions of planet, people and profit, the statement said.
