Galeria Bronowice, managed by Ceetrus Poland, received the BREEAM-In-Use Certificate with the highest “Excellent” rating. The document confirms that the facility in Kraków is an environmentally-friendly building operating in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. Galeria Bronowice received this distinction in two categories, for building management and for the building itself.

The BREEAM In-Use Certificate is awarded to facilities which have been operating on the market for at least two years. In order to obtain a certificate, the facility undergoes a detailed verification process which determines whether it meets the relevant criteria.

Galeria Bronowice received the BREEAM-In-Use certificate in the Asset Performance and Building Management categories, with the “Excellent” rating in both. The BREEAM-In-Use building assessment system is a complicated procedure which includes many requirements. The Asset Performance category applies to the building itself, while in the Building Management category the facility is evaluated based on how it is managed.

In order to obtain such a high result in the certification process, Galeria Bronowice had to meet very strict criteria related to effective waste management and recycling, energy efficiency, water consumption optimisation, as well as light energy and carbon dioxide emissions. The certification organisation also took into account management, the health and well-being of the users of the facility, transport solutions, the materials used, environmental issues, and the management of green areas.

Galeria Bronowice is a commercial, service and entertainment complex with a leasable area of 60,000 sqm. Located in the northern part of Kraków, the facility is an important commercial space in this part of the city. The shopping centre’s offer consists of nearly 150 shops, cafes and restaurants. Its wide variety of amenities, as well as cultural, entertainment and sports attractions, creates a unique meeting place.

Among the facilities managed by Ceetrus Poland, apart from Galeria Bronowice, the BREEAM-In-Use certificate has been obtained by Galeria Łomianki near Warsaw. Two more Ceetrus Poland facilities are currently undergoing the certification process.
