Romanian developer Intero Property Development has signed a sale contract with a retailer for 10,418 sqm of land at Bucharest-based SkyLight Residence. The new supermarket will be the retailer's largest store in Romania, spanning over 3,265 sqm. Construction is scheduled to start in approximately three months, with opening targeted for Q4 2026.

This transaction strengthens Obor's retail ecosystem and anchors SkyLight Residence's 15-minute city concept.

"This partnership is great news for Obor and for Bucharest. The opening of a retailer flagship store at SkyLight Residence is a strong vote of confidence in our masterplan and in the district's future," stated Michael Topolinski III, Founder and CEO of Intero Property Development. "The new store will complement a growing new community at SkyLight Residence and in the wider neighbourhood, bringing more comfort, jobs, and everyday value for residents and visitors."

SkyLight Residence, a €1 billion development, is a mixed-use development with over 2,200 apartments, offices, supermarket, schools and green spaces, including a central park and several private parks. The total built area is approximately 486,000 sqm, of which 370,000 sqm will include residential units and 115,000 sqm offices. The project will also include over 4,000 parking spaces and an 8,540 sqm commercial area.

The developer aims to have the first residents move into the complex in late 2027.
