InPost, which owns a network of parcel lockers Paczkomaty®, will launch a new 6,000 sqm logistics centre in Prologis Park Chorzów. One of Poland’s largest logistics operators was advised on the transaction by real estate advisory firm Savills.

InPost was advised during the search for a suitable location and negotiation of lease conditions by Maciej Gierak and Michał Kulig from Savills, a provider of advisory services for warehouse and industrial tenants.

“Our logistics infrastructure proved to be very efficient during the last peak holiday shopping season, for which we were perfectly prepared. Next-day deliveries are a big challenge for any operator and courier, especially amid pandemic restrictions. During our 12-year presence on the Polish market we have developed a proven logistics model that we are ready to roll out on other European markets. The secret of our efficiency also lies in our superb mobile app, which has more than 5.7 million users in Poland. Thanks to our unique InPost Paczkomaty® parcel lockers, combined with efficient logistics and an app that none of our competitors has, we offer convenience and the most modern and innovative services on the market,” says Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost.

“InPost is one of the most active tenants on the Polish logistics market and continues to see increasing demand for its services, driven by the growing popularity of e-commerce. We are delighted to have had the pleasure of advising and assisting a leader in Polish logistics in their expansion in Upper Silesia,” says Maciej Gierak, Business Development Manager, Industrial Agency, Savills.

InPost has more than 11,000 Paczkomaty® parcel lockers across Poland, more than double the number of Poczta Polska facilities (4600). Its automated lockers in Poland are situated next to stores of such retailers as Dino, Lidl, Kaufland, Delikatesy Centrum of the Eurocash Group, and in Auchan shopping centres. InPost has also signed an agreement with Auchan to provide refrigerated lockers and door-to-door deliveries. InPost refrigerated machines enable safe storage and collection of groceries, beverages and frozen foods ordered online via Auchan Direct. According to research from Kantar TNS, as many as 40% of online shoppers want to collect groceries from InPost Paczkomaty®.

Prologis Park Chorzów is a modern distribution centre consisting of five buildings with a total area of over 250,000 sqm of warehouse space. It is located in Upper Silesia, approximately 7 km to the west of the centre of Katowice, close to “Chorzów Batory” interchange of the A4 motorway. It also enjoys easy access to the A1 motorway and Katowice Pyrzowice International Airport.

The carbon cost is already in your building. You just can't see it yet

by Property Forum
A structural shift is rewriting the financial logic of European commercial real estate. It isn't being driven by ESG pressure or voluntary sustainability labels. It's being driven by regulation — and the numbers are concrete enough that ignoring them is becoming a financial risk. A recent white paper by workcloud24 traces the mechanism in detail: how the operational energy and CO₂ performance of a building transmits into net operating income, asset value, and financing conditions. The argument isn't that green buildings are virtuous. It's that inefficient buildings are becoming measurably more expensive to own, operate, and finance.
