Construction of one of the largest logistics projects in Croatia is entering its next phase. Development company RC Europe Group from the Czech Republic has started construction work on the RC Zone Samobor project in the Bobovica economic zone. The total land area of 170,000 sqm will feature an 86,000 sqm warehouse facility intended for leasing. In line with the tenants’ requirements, the space in the future logistics park can be used for storage, production, or office operations.

"Completion of the construction is slated for the end of 2024 and we are already witnessing high interest from prospective tenants. The RC Europe owners are very satisfied with the investment climate in Croatia. This is just the beginning of fulfilling our long-term plans for the Croatian market, with several different projects already in the pipeline," said Antonín Dillenz, RC Europe CEO and project general manager.

The construction contractor previously selected through a tender is the Croatian company Facies d.o.o. They will ensure that the project exemplifies a good green and sustainable construction, in accordance with the international BREEAM® certification and ESG strategy. The project will also include a 7MW solar photovoltaic power plant on the building roof, as well as charging stations for trucks and cars, a modern canteen for employees and several other features that bring the project in line with the highest standards for logistics projects in Europe. Following a secured building permit, the selection of a top-tier construction contractor and the completion of the access road, RC Zone Samobor will be the biggest project of its kind in the country, worth exceeding €100 million.

A basic prerequisite for the commencement of the logistics park's construction was the completion of the access road, which includes a bridge, roundabout, bicycle lane and a public parking lot that can be used by both economic zone visitors and residents of Samobor. The access road also connects the zone with the A3 highway, located just 1 kilometre away. The location of this logistics park is strategically advantageous – it is near Slovenia and Western European routes, and has access to the Croatian A3 highway, making it ideal for trade and logistics. The project is less than 25 kilometres from the centre of Zagreb.

RC Europe is a Czech development and investment company that has been active in the international market since 2005. It has projects not only in the Czech Republic but also in Romania and Serbia and now is expanding to Croatia.
