CTP has begun construction of a new 38,000 sqm building at CTPark Brno South, with ABB as the key tenant. The global electrical engineering company will occupy over 17,000 sqm for low-voltage switchgear production and a development centre, creating up to 60 new jobs initially.
ABB is expanding from its current CTPark Brno location, moving production, development, administration, and warehouse operations to the new facility. The company plans to hire 60 employees next year, with expectations to grow to around 600 employees within a few years, nearly doubling its current workforce of 320. Production is scheduled to start in August 2026.
"Our requirements for the new facility were very specific from the outset—we were looking for premises that would allow us to develop production alongside the development of switchgear, and at the same time provide high-quality conditions for our employees," explains David Staněk, Manufacturing Unit Manager at ABB.
The building emphasises employee comfort with a designer glass facade, natural light, greenery, and relaxation facilities. The design follows modern urban campus styles, connecting production areas with open workspaces. The facility will target BREEAM Outstanding certification and include photovoltaic panels, heat pump systems, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
"ABB has long been one of the most important employers in the South Moravian Region, and we are delighted that the company has chosen us for its further development plans," says Pavel Blažek, Senior Business Developer at CTP in the Czech Republic. The project represents continued development of CTPark Brno South, where CTP delivered a 52,000 sqm production facility last year.
