Atrium announced the major refurbishment of its flagship shopping centre – Atrium Promenada, located in Warsaw, Poland. The investment aims to refurbish the second part of the shopping centre. This will continue the transformation of Promenada, the first part of which was completed in autumn 2018.

The changes will include a comprehensive refurbishment of the interior of the mall from Jana Nowaka Jeziorańskiego Street and a remodelling of the entrance to the mall from this street. Upon completion, the total area of 56,600 sqm of Atrium Promenada will be modernized.

“As the owner and manager of major shopping centres in Poland and Central Europe, we look at our facilities and the communities around them from a long-term perspective. Particularly in such large and significant locations as Warsaw, a modern European capital that is developing dynamically. We want our centres to be places not only for shopping but also for leisure, social, health and recreational functions – so that our neighbours have a comfortable place to live, entertain, shop or work,” says Scott Dwyer, Group Managing Director – Retail, Atrium European Real Estate. “Atrium Promenada is the flagship of our portfolio with a wide range of premium brands. We have been transforming it since 2016 as part of successive phases of work. The current modernization will allow us to offer customers an even richer proposition in this area – both in terms of retail concepts and carefully selected brands available in the gallery.”

The redevelopment of Poland’s flagship shopping centre will further strengthen Atrium’s position in the capital, where the company has 5 facilities. As a result, Atrium Promenada is set to become the most interesting and modern shopping centre on the right side of the Vistula river. It will offer its customers an even richer portfolio of brands in the latest concepts and further strengthen its business potential. From an architectural point of view, the reconstructed mall will have a uniform and coherent character, with its design referring to the most famous fashion streets and cult department stores of world fashion capitals.

“Promenada already has a strong, established position in the market, a loyal customer base and an ever-increasing catchment due to new residential developments in the immediate vicinity. In addition, we are planning to build rental apartments next to Promenada – further enhancing the attractiveness of this part of the district and further increasing the level of interest in the area from potential residents and retailers,” says Scott Dwyer.

Atrium Promenada will function normally during the ongoing modernization works. Customers will have at their disposal the main part of the shopping centre (renovated in 2018) with an offer of over 100 brands. The Cinema City cinema, Carrefour, the Republika Smaku restaurant zone and Piąty Wymiar will operate uninterrupted.

Completion of the refurbishment is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.

The carbon cost is already in your building. You just can't see it yet

by Property Forum
A structural shift is rewriting the financial logic of European commercial real estate. It isn't being driven by ESG pressure or voluntary sustainability labels. It's being driven by regulation — and the numbers are concrete enough that ignoring them is becoming a financial risk. A recent white paper by workcloud24 traces the mechanism in detail: how the operational energy and CO₂ performance of a building transmits into net operating income, asset value, and financing conditions. The argument isn't that green buildings are virtuous. It's that inefficient buildings are becoming measurably more expensive to own, operate, and finance.
