Manufacturing and IT companies drive demand for Brno offices

There were five new office buildings that were completed and six more are under construction now. At this moment, Ostrava has only one project under construction with the completion scheduled for 2023, says the Regional Research Forum in its latest report on H2 2022.

UDI Group to invest CZK 3 billion in Brno

The UDI Group has acquired an industrial site in Brno in January, which it will operate for the time being while preparing for future redevelopment. At the moment, the plan is to build offices and hotel-type accommodations. If the city changes the zoning plan, as it seeks to do, the developer's final project may change to reflect this.  Construction would be done in phases, with the first phase to begin within two years. The developer announced the acquisition without disclosing the transaction price.

Brno's office market to expand significantly

Brno has changed over the past two decades. A total of 635,900 sqm of office space currently exists in the city thanks to the strong growth of companies from the business and IT services and R&D sectors. Brno Spielberg, along with the city centre around Vlněná Street, has become home to companies that create advanced technologies and innovations for global businesses. The city is preparing to expand this space – it will soon add almost 100,000 sqm to the currently unoccupied 70,900 sqm of modern office space, says Colliers in its latest report.

CTP to build high-tech office building in Brno

CTP is constructing a brand-new office building in the premium office complex Vlněna, located on a former Brno brownfield site. It aspires to be the most modern building of this type in Central Europe. This 61-metre-high glass building will be located in the centre of the Moravian metropolis, will be completed by mid-2024 and will cost CZK 600 million (€24.65 million), the developer announced.

CTP starts construction of office building in Brno

CTP has officially launched the construction of a CZK 1.5 billion office building which will close the first stage of the Brno Ponávka complex development and will offer its tenants state-of-the-art technological, and environmentally sustainable solutions. Brno and Ostrava office stock to grow by almost 100,000 sqm

Brno's office stock reached 635,900 sqm in the first half of 2022 and 75,300 sqm is being built there. At the same time, Ostrava's office stock has 219,100 sqm and builts 21,000 sqm of offices. None of these regional metropolises had finished a new office building in the first half of this year. In both localities, prime rents increased reflecting the general pressure on prices in new developments, reports the Regional Research Forum.

Crestyl wants to change the centre of Brno

Developer Crestyl wants to transform the centre of Brno near the main train station with the Dornych project, connecting the historic centre with the newly planned district. It is to create a freely accessible public space that will include six buildings with apartments, office and retail space and underground garages. The project, with a total investment of CZK 7 billion (€285 million), already has a zoning permit and expects to receive a building permit by mid-2023, the developer announced at a public presentation of the project.

  • Logistics operator Just in Time Logistic has leased around 300 sqm in the DL Tower multifunctional building in Katowice (SIlesia, Poland).
  • This summer, Green Caffè Nero will open at the Diuna office complex, part of the portfolio of PineBridge Benson Elliot and Syrena Real Estate, located in the heart of Warsaw’s Służewiec district. The café will occupy a 200 sqm space.
  • Karl Storz Endoscopy Romania has leased around 1,000 sqm in Timpuri Noi Square office building in a deal brokered by CBRE.

New appointments

  • Polski Związek Firm Deweloperskich (Polish Association of Property Developers) elected new authorities at its general meeting in Katowice. Maciej Wandzel was elected chairman of the board. He will replace Grzegorz Kiełpsz, who became honorary president of the PZFD.
  • Piotr Herian has taken up the position of ISS CFO for Poland and the Baltics. ISS is a leading company in the creation of friendly workplaces and comprehensive facilities management.
  • Paulina Strutyńska has been promoted to the position of Leasing & Asset Director at Skanska’s commercial development business unit. She is now responsible for leasing processes in the Warsaw market as well as Key Customer Management. Agnieszka Krawczyk-Rogowska is responsible for project commercialization and client liaison in Gdańsk, Kraków, and Bucharest, while Marek Stasieńko is responsible for the Wrocław, Poznań, and Łódź markets.
