BuildGreen and Zorile SA announce the achievement of LEED v4.1 Existing Buildings Platinum certification for Zity Office in Chișinău. This marks the first such certification on the Moldovan office market and aligns the project with international sustainability standards.
Part of a mixed-use office-retail development, Zity Office has a gross leasable area of 12,200 sqm. The project includes a seven-story office building and the top two levels of Zity Mall. Major tenants include Orange Moldova, Petrom Moldova, Vinaria Purcari, Bergenbier, Ericsson Telecommunication, BDR Associates, Moldindconbank, Victoriabank, and S&T Mold.
"Our involvement in achieving the first LEED Platinum certification for an office project in the Republic of Moldova has meant much more than verifying technical and sustainability requirements," said Razvan Nica, CEO and Founder of BuildGreen. "Through this project, we feel we are part of a change in mindset and in adopting shared values of European sustainability, which bring the business environments of Romania and Moldova closer."
The business center, completed in two phases (2014 and 2018), achieved a score of 80 points. The project excelled in Energy Performance (30 out of 33 points), Waste Management (7 out of 8 points for improved selective collection and recycling), and Indoor Environmental Quality for ensuring comfort and air quality compliance with international standards.
"It is a privilege to be pioneers in certifying our activity according to LEED standards," said Andrei Chitanu, CEO of Zorile SA. "To inaugurate the certification trend in the Republic of Moldova is an honor. We are present at the start of certifying over 400,000 sqm of office space that the Republic of Moldova currently counts."
Zity Offices becomes the only business center in Moldova with international LEED certification, positioning Chișinău on the map of cities emphasizing sustainability and responsible development.
