YIT Czechia has completed the second phase of its Portti Kladno residential project in Kladno, delivering 102 freehold apartments ranging in size from 28 to 99 sqm, with layouts from studio to four-bedroom. Every unit includes a balcony, terrace or front garden, along with a cellar, parking space, a pram store and an outdoor area for washing bicycles and dogs.
"Portti Kladno was an important project for us, because it was our first residential development outside Prague. We are pleased that owners will soon begin taking over their new homes, and we believe they will be happy there," said Dana Bartoňová, sales director at YIT Czechia.
Together with the first phase, which delivered 85 cooperative apartments and two commercial ground-floor units, the scheme on the site of a former cold-storage facility on Ke Stadionu street has produced 187 apartments in total. The development includes a semi-private courtyard with a small park and children's playground, new greenery and connections to pedestrian and cycling routes. The buildings incorporate photovoltaic panels, green roofs, a rainwater retention tank, LED lighting and triple-glazed windows. Only one apartment in the second phase remains available for purchase.
"Completing Portti Kladno does not end our presence here. We are now continuing with the Virta Kladno complex, which will be considerably larger. We intend to create a new urban district in the Růžové pole area with approximately 750 apartments in 11 buildings, quality public space with greenery and civic amenities," said Bartoňová. The Virta Kladno scheme will also include sustainable and blue-green infrastructure elements, and YIT plans to build a timber-framed kindergarten on the site. The first phase, the Vanaja building with 68 freehold units, is already under way, alongside the Saimaa building with 87 units being built for a housing cooperative.
YIT Czechia entered the Czech market in 2008 and has since completed 41 residential projects. The company currently has five projects under construction, including the first phase of the Kalevala complex in Brno, where it plans to deliver around 750 apartments on the border of the Vinohrady and Židenice districts. The parent YIT Group, listed on Nasdaq Helsinki, operates in seven European countries, employs approximately 4,100 people and reported revenue of nearly €1.8 billion in 2025.
