Trei Real Estate just opened another retail park of its Vendo Park brand in Poland. It is located in Mielec, a small town of around 61,000 residents in the Podkarpackie or Subcarpathian voivodeship in south-eastern Poland. The new Vendo Park has a lettable area of around 7,000 square meters and is occupied by twelve retailers and a supermarket. On the whole, Trei invested c. €11.9 million in the property. As a result, the Vendo Park portfolio of Trei has just increased to a total of 42 retail parks, 32 of which are located in Poland while the others are in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

“Retail parks are the fastest-growing format on the Polish retail real estate market because they meet the day-to-day needs of consumers. Shoppers don’t have far to go to find a store, a certain brand or a product they are looking for. Vendo Parks gives them the chance to get their shopping done quickly, conveniently and close to home. That is what consumers expect these days,” said Pepijn Morshuis, the CEO of Trei Real Estate.

The new retail park is the first in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. Its provincial capital, Rzeszów, is around 60 km away from Mielec.  The Vendo Park in Mielec consists of two buildings – one divided into units that are let to several retailers, the other occupied by a single food market. Overall, the retail park is home to 13 different stores, and includes brands like KiK, Biedronka, Rossmann, Pepco, Media Expert, Takko Fashion and Tedi. There are 360 customer parking spots.

“In Mielec, we recognized a potential to expand our traditional retail spectrum. There are still so many small and mid-size towns in Poland that have no modern outlets for retailers selling consumer staples. The fact that the entire complex is already fully occupied reflects the strong tenant-side demand. We are therefore planning to further expand the retail premises in Mielec, and to bring in additional retailers,” said Jacek Wesołowski, the Managing Director of Trei Real Estate Poland.

The Vendo Park in Mielec is the third site of its kind to come on-stream in 2022, after previous openings in Skarżysko-Kamienna and Otwock. At present, Trei has another four retail parks under construction in Poland: in Kraków, Zambrów, Gorzów Wielkopolski and Łapy.
