MLP Group to develop new logistics centre in Upper Silesia

MLP Group is investing to develop a new logistics centre within the Katowice Special Economic Zone. The upcoming MLP Bieruń West, situated on recently acquired land, is set to provide approximately 55,000 sqm of cutting-edge warehouse space. It will be yet another logistics centre operating in the highly sought-after region of Upper Silesia. In line with the property developer’s standard, the project will undergo the BREEAM New Construction certification of ‘Excellent’.

Accolade to start new warehouse project in Upper Silesia

Accolade is expanding its portfolio with a new facility in Upper Silesia. The warehouse park in Ruda Śląska will have a total area of 67,000 sqm, nearly half of which is already leased to a single tenant. The investment is valued at €55 million.

Upper Silesia reports fewer but larger warehouse leases

New multinational companies are leasing warehouses in Upper Silesia while taking advantage of comprehensive logistics services. Developers have secured plots of land in the region and will launch new projects once they pre-let 30-50% of the floorspace of a building as part of meeting banks’ lending requirements. According to the latest market data, Upper Silesia is the fastest-growing region, say Michał Kozar, Senior Associate, and Janusz Dudek, Senior Advisor, Industrial and Warehouse Department, Newmark Polska.

New leases

  • MLP Group has bolstered the tenant mix at MLP Poznań West by welcoming Stockly, a 3D printing specialist. The company has leased 2,400 sqm of warehouse and office space, with operations already underway via early access. A full handover is expected in December 2026. Stockly was represented by Rock Estate during the transaction.
  • Echo Investment has signed a lease agreement with Auchan Polska for 1,200 sqm of retail space within Fuzja, a flagship multifunctional complex in Łódź. The retailer is scheduled to open the outlet during the summer of 2026.
  • Froo Romania, a subsidiary of the Żabka Group, has relocated its HQ to the Bucharest-based Hermes Business Campus. The retailer secured around 2,900 sqm of office space in a transaction facilitated by Colliers.

New appointments

  • Colliers has appointed Kata Mazsaroff, Tamás Beck, and Miklós Ecsődi as Equity Partners in Hungary, effective 30 April 2026. Mazsaroff, who joined in 2007, rises to Managing Partner after overseeing a 200 per cent revenue increase since her 2022 appointment as Managing Director. Beck, with Colliers since 1994, has led the Industrial & Logistics division since 2005, facilitating transactions covering 1.9 million sqm of built space and 9.8 million sqm of land. Ecsődi, Head of Occupier Services and Office Agency since joining in 2011, has secured over 450,000 sqm in leases valued above €600 million.
  • Aleksandra Walaszek and Tomasz Nowakowski have joined Cushman & Wakefield’s Retail Agency. Walaszek has more than 10 years of experience in the retail sector. Nowakowski is an expert with nearly 20 years of experience in strategic leasing and retail property transaction management.
  • iO Partners has appointed Constantin Banu as Business Development Director for its Industrial and Land segments. With over 25 years of experience in the Romanian real estate sector, Banu is widely credited with helping shape the local logistics market. In his new role, he will oversee expansion strategies for the two segments.
