Wood & Company is starting to improve its Aupark shopping centre in Bratislava. It plans to expand it with three more retail units and open the space to other global brands, startitup.sk reports.

The developers of Belvedere Residence in northern Bucharest sold the commercial gallery on the ground floor of the residential buildings within the complex to a private investor for an undisclosed sum. 

In March 2023, the Delta Planet Mall retail centre, located in Varna, Bulgaria, inaugurated an innovative photovoltaic solar installation. The investment of nearly €500,000 (BGN 1 million) covers the construction of 1,029 solar panels with a total capacity of 556 kW.

With a €10 million investment, M Core has made another commitment to its portfolio in Poland through the announcement of the Świdnik M Park development. At 7,700 ssqm, the retail park will be the largest development for M Core in Poland and the first created under the M Park brand, built by LCP Properties — one of the five property entities that sits under the M Core umbrella.

Mitiska REIM has announced on behalf of the MEREP 3 fund the acquisition of Europa Centralna, a retail center covering a gross leasable area (GLA) of 67,000 sqm located on a 27ha land plot in Gliwice, Poland. The price has not been disclosed.

Trei Real Estate GmbH just opened another two retail parks of its Vendo Park brand in Poland. The properties are located in Zambrów (Podlaskie Voivodeship) and in Kraków (Lesser Poland Voivodeship). The investment volume adds up to c. €16.4 million. The two retail parks have a combined lettable area of around 11,000 square meters.

The Echo-Archicom Group closes the year 2022 with a strong cash position and further reduced the company's net debt. This is the result of selling seven office buildings worth nearly €320 million. In 2022, the Group generated a net profit of PLN 127 million attributable to shareholders of the parent company, which was mainly the outcome of handing over to customers 2,168 apartments for sale and rent built by Echo Investment and Archicom, as well as an increase in the value of office buildings and apartments for rent.

Effective from the beginning of March 2023, Urszula Matej-Bil has been appointed Management Board Member responsible for marketing and communications at EPP, the largest asset manager of retail real estate located in Poland. She has been at the company since 2019 when she joined its structures as PR and Communications Director.

Retail centres face pressure from different angles and most of them have started refurbishment programs including energy efficiency investments. Is that enough or do they need to invest more to keep up? Echo Investment and AFI Europe presented their new, refreshed project of a large mixed-use investment in the very centre of Warsaw, in a quarter bounded by the streets of Towarowa, Pańska and Miedziana. In this location, offices and apartments for sale and rent are to be created as well as restaurants and service outlet units. The remaining industrial infrastructure in Wola is to be integrated into the Słowa Polskiego public park.
