EIB lends €125 million for manufacturing facility in Poland

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed a €125 million loan with Umicore, a Belgian-based global materials technology and recycling group, to finance part of the greenfield production facility for cathode materials in Nysa, Southwestern Poland. The cathode materials will be supplied to battery manufacturers of high-tech lithium-ion batteries that are primarily used in electric vehicles.

EIB supports brownfield revitalisation in Warsaw

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed a €60 million loan agreement with ArtN Sp. z o.o., a subsidiary of Capital Park S.A., for a flagship project to revitalise the former Norblin factory site in central Warsaw. This is the first EIB transaction in Poland with a real estate investor under a project financing scheme.

EIB lends €150 million to WDP in Romania

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is lending €150 million to Warehouses De Pauw (WDP) to finance the construction of 43 warehouses, all located in Romania’s convergence regions. The new logistics facilities will be rented long-term, with a focus on establishing new logistics or light industrial operations. This will promote employment generation and the EU's supply chain security, resulting in particular from the rapidly growing e-commerce business platforms.

EIB invests in Szczecin mixed-use complex

Polish developer Porto was granted a €29 million loan by the European Investment Bank via Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGP) for the construction of a mixed-use complex in Szczecin. Thanks to the application of pro-ecological technology, Posejdon will reduce CO2 emissions up to even 76% compared to a similar building constructed using a traditional technology.

New leases

  • C&A is opening of the largest single-level C&A shop in Poland. The outlet will launch in the Blue City shopping centre in Warsaw. The new shop occupies an area of approximately 2,500 sqm.
  • The Smart Outlet Center in Białystok (eastern Poland) has added new shops - Tedi and Esotiq, which occupy a total of around 900 sqm.
  • Chefs Culinar, a distributor of products for the HoReCa sector, has become the first tenant at MLP Business Park Łódź. The company has leased over 1,600 sqm of warehouse and office space. The transaction was brokered for the tenant by Renthis Estate.

New appointments

  • Modivo, which is part of the CCC Group, is changing the composition of its board of directors. Marcin Czyczerski was dismissed from the position of president, and his place was taken by Dariusz Miłek. The decision is aimed at improving cooperation between the companies.
  • Krisztina Enzsöl has joined Knight Frank Hungary as Associate Director in the office division. She has over 24 years’ worth of experience in real estate, being specialised in office leasing. In addition, Enzsöl has extensive knowledge in both tenant and landlord representation.
  • Beginning of September this year, the Management Board at Avison Young's Polish branch underwent a change, with Monika Bronicka, Director, Head of Valuation and Advisory, Business Development, becoming a Member of the Board.
