NEPI Rockcastle has officially opened its €136 million Promenada Craiova shopping centre in central southern Romania. 

The current industrial stock of close to 7 million sqm of industrial projects in Romania has the potential to support the accelerated growth of power generation systems based on photovoltaic panels installed on the rooftops of warehouses. 

CTP has purchased three industrial parks in three Romanian cities from FM Logistic, a French supply chain services company, for an undisclosed sum.  

Romania is on a course to reach the highest record in history for the industrial segment and the trend will continue next year due to increasing demand from international retailers that are creating hubs in the country, according to CBRE Romania. 

Romania is an attractive market for international retail companies which are interested in leasing large areas, often above 1,500-2,000 sqm, according to a report by real estate consultancy CBRE. Bucharest is the leading city with 66,222 sqm of retail spaces under development, followed byu Craiova, Timișoara and Iași.

Zacaria Group, the largest developer of logistics spaces in Sibiu, will open next year a retail park in Cisnădie, Sibiu, following an investment of more than €11 million. 

The modern stock of industrial spaces in Romania reached 5.9 million sqm in the first semester of 2022, with 500,000 sqm under construction and 44% of this volume already pre-let, according to a report by real estate consultancy CBRE.

Irish fashion retailer Primark will open a new store in AFI Cotroceni, the shopping mall owned by AFI Europe in Bucharest. 

With six new office buildings slated for delivery this year, the leasable stock will grow by 135,700 sqm, which is the lowest level since 2017, according to real estate consultancy CBRE.
