Iași takes nearly 40% of regional office lease deals in Romania
Transactions of new office rental, relocation and pre-rental in Romania’s regional cities reached 70,393 sqm during 2022, which was 22% more than in 2021. Almost 90% of the lease deals were closed in cities that are university centres such as Iași, Cluj-Napoca and Timișoara, according to a report by Fortim Trusted Advisors.

Bucharest office leasing at 75,700 sqm in Q3 2022
Office leasing across the country totaled 108,747 sqm in Q3, up 9% compared to the same period of last year, with Bucharest, Iași and Cluj-Napoca recording the biggest volume of transactions, according to real estate consultancy Fortim Trusted Advisors.

Austrian property investments in Romania reach €323 million in 2021
Property investments in Romania totaled €919.4 million during 2021, with Austrian investment dominating the rank among foreign players closing deals on the local market. Last year, Austrian investors bought office and retail spaces with a combined value of €323 million. Czech and Hungarian property players had shares of €173 million and €150 million, respectively, according to a report by real estate consultancy Fortim, a member of BNP Paribas Real Estate Alliance.

Fortim Trusted Advisors aims for 30% turnover growth in 2022
Fortim Trusted Advisors, the property consultancy member in the BNP Paribas Real Estate Alliance in Romania, says it will record a turnover of RON 5 million (around €1 million) this year, while next year’s growth expectations are set at 30% year-on-year.

New leases
- Worldbox has entered the Romanian market with its first store at Scallier's Funshop Park in Vaslui. The multi-brand store covers more than 660 sqm and offers clothing, footwear and accessories in the casual and sportswear segment.
- Greek jewelry designer Anna Maria Mazaraki has opened her first Romanian store in Bucharest-based ParkLake Shopping Center. The transaction for the new location was brokered by Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.
- Squarepoint, a global quantitative investment management firm, has leased close to 2,200 sqm in Warsaw based Skyliner II. Squarepoint was represented in the transaction by CBRE. Legal advisory for Karimpol was provided by Argon Legal.
New appointments
- CBRE Investment Management announced the firm is evolving the leadership model in its EMEA Direct Real Estate business. Under the enhanced structure, Rik Eertink will assume the role of President and CIO of EMEA Direct Real Estate, after serving as President of EMEA Direct Real Estate for the past five years.
- Nhood has appointed Mihaela Petruescu as the new Country Director for Property Services Romania & Poland as of October. She previously held leadership positions at large real estate firms, such as Cushman & Wakefield Echinox and CBRE Romania.
- Daniel Orczyk has been named Senior Project Manager at the technical advisory department of Avison Young in Poland. He is a licensed structural engineer and building site manager with over 20 years of experience.
