Shopping centre in Prague faces troubles shortly after opening

The owner of the Máj shopping centre on Národní Street in Prague, Amadeus Real Estate (ARE), closed the children's playground on the building's roof in August due to missing permission and is now also closing the indoor playground named Lvíčkov (Little Lion Land), reports E15.cz.

Amadeus RE to open renovated department store in Prague soon

The iconic building on the corner of Národní and Spálená streets in Prague, today Máj Národní, is starting to write a new chapter in its history. The two-year renovation, which transformed the original monofunctional Máj department store into Máj Národní, is coming to an end.

New leases

Hungarian fashion brand Retro Jeans has signed a long-term lease for 5,000 sqm in HelloParks AN1 facility located in Alsónémedi (Budapest South). The brand is present in more than 60 retail points across five European countries.
Fashion retailer Primark will open a new store spanning 3,000 sqm in Palas Mall Iași, owned by Iulius. The store will be Primark’s first location in northeastern Romania and will open in 2026.
GFC Complex Solutions, owner of the Skropak brand, has leased 3,200 sq m of warehouse and production space in the Kotarba Invest facility in Gajków near Wrocław. The company specialises in the production of eco-friendly parcel fillers based on plant starch.

New appointments

Magdalena Zagórska, a commercial property expert with 15 years of professional experience, has joined international real estate advisory firm Newmark Polska as Director in the Office Department, with effect from 2 June 2025. Her key responsibilities include representing office tenants during relocations and lease renegotiations.
Trei Real Estate Poland expands its management board - Jacek Wesołowski and Paweł Gołuchowski are joined by Mariusz Cegielski and Dariusz Węglicki. The company announces "dynamic growth in the residential and retail segments".
At the beginning of the year, Roberto Mateos, an experienced hotelier who has been with the Barceló Hotel Group for almost two decades, took over as general manager of the Barceló Warsaw Powiśle hotel.
