Rohlig Suus Logistics has leased 20,393 sqm at MDC2 Park Gliwice, which will include 19,773 sqm of warehouse space and 420 sqm of office and social space. The total area of the 3 warehouse buildings in the park will exceed 57,000 sqm.

Rohlig Suus Logistics is one of the leading logistics operators in Poland.  It has been operating for over 30 years, managing logistics and supply chains on six continents.  The company employs over 2000 employees in over 30 offices in Europe.

“We have chosen MDC2 Park Gliwice because of its location and very high score in the BREEAM New Construction certification. ESG issues are extremely important in the development strategy of SUUS. We want our facilities to be “green”, but also appropriately adapted to the needs of employees or truck drivers, which also affects the provision of the highest quality services to our customers”, explained Sylwester Wzorek, Senior Facility Manager at Rohlig Suus Logistics.

“Year by year, we notice the growing development of the Silesia region, which is why we decided to lease a new, larger warehouse in MDC2 Park Gliwice. The location of the facility, at the intersection of the A1 and A4 motorways, is also extremely important to us,” says Grzegorz Łukaszek, Branch Director Katowice at Rohlig Suus Logistics. “This investment will significantly increase our operational capabilities, which will allow us to improve our services, which we direct in the region, among others, to clients from the automotive sector",  he added.

Within the area of the Gliwice’s project there is a Rest & Move area which is an innovative concept on the Polish market, promoting a healthy lifestyle and improving working conditions for all users of the developer’s warehouse facilities. Benefits include a gym, delivered in partnership with “TruckersLife” foundation, and a multi-sport pitch, and places to rest and relax.

“A social space dedicated to visitors of Rohlig Suus Logistics will be built within the leased area. This is an exception in the Polish market, which, along with the development of the ESG policy in the industry, is gaining more and more importance, especially in relation to the professional group of truck drivers. Caring for their well-being is in the interest of all stakeholders involved in logistics processes. As part of a similar concept, MDC2 prepares the surroundings of the entire complex. For this purpose, a special Rest&Move zone will be created including a gym – as part of the partnership with the TruckersLife foundation – a multisport pitch and places to rest. The idea behind the Rest&Move is to promote a healthy lifestyle and improve working conditions for all users of the developer’s warehouse park.” says Katarzyna Dudzik, Development Director at MDC2.

MDC2 Park Gliwice is being developed to BREEAM New Construction certification guidelines at the Outstanding level. Such a high rating is possible thanks to the use of a number of solutions that increase the energy efficiency of buildings, as well as thanks to a well-thought-out environment rich in biodiversity and prepared with the well-being of employees in mind.

Rohlig Suus will start its operations in MDC2 Park Gliwice in autumn this year.

The investor of the project is a German fund whose assets are managed by Invesco Real Estate. Triflow agency and Greenberg Traurig law firm advised on the lease transaction.
