Prologis has signed a lease agreement with GEM Logistics s.r.o. for over 5,000 sqm at DC2 in Prologis Park Brno-Syrovice, near Brno in South Moravia. The Czech transport and logistics company will use the facility as a distribution centre for smaller consignments and orders handled by delivery vans, with operations characterised by a high frequency of vehicle movements and a need for fast shipment handling.
GEM Logistics provides regular distribution, express deliveries and logistics outsourcing, with a focus on the domestic Czech market and adapting services to individual client requirements. The new facility is intended to support the company's continued expansion.
"With growing demand and the expansion of our distribution services, we were looking for a facility that would offer excellent transport connectivity and high-quality technical infrastructure. Prologis Park Brno-Syrovice fully meets our requirements for the efficient handling of a wide range of shipments," said Lukáš Menšík, managing director of GEM Logistics.
"This cooperation confirms our ability to adapt our facilities to highly specific distribution models, such as intensive van-based delivery operations. We believe that the technical infrastructure at DC2 and the park's transport accessibility will support GEM Logistics' continued growth," said Martin Čihák, leasing and customer experience manager at Prologis.
Prologis Park Brno-Syrovice is situated close to Brno, an industrial and logistics hub in South Moravia, with direct access to major transport corridors and connections to other parts of the Czech Republic and wider European markets. Prologis owns or holds investments in properties and development projects totalling approximately 121 million sqm across 20 countries, serving around 6,500 customers.
