The 13th JLL Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament will take place on August 1st at the Monta Beach Volley Club in Warsaw. Funds raised during the event for the second time will go towards supporting the construction of the Ronald McDonald House at the ‘Pomnik - Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka Institute. Property Forum is a Media Partner of the event.

This year's edition of the JLL Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament once again will see the most important real estate companies and agencies competing together for a socially important cause. The organisers will do their best to beat last year's record attendance - as many as 56 teams took part in the 2023 event - and to raise as much money as possible, which will go to the construction budget.

Last year alone, the event initiated by the real estate consultancy leader managed to raise PLN 810,000, all of which JLL donated to support the construction of the third Ronald McDonald House, and in total all past editions of the tournament have raised close to PLN 5 million, all of which has been donated to charity.

JLL continues its partnership with the Ronald McDonald Foundation, which supports families of hospitalised children on a daily basis. The foundation's mission: ‘For the family to be together’, is in line with the values and the idea of the tournament, which is why the funds raised during this year's edition will again be donated to the construction of the third Ronald McDonald House.

"Together with industry partners and tournament participants, we would like to highlight the power of collective action and the commitment of the real estate industry to the initiative that is building the third Ronald McDonald House in Poland. For the second year in a row, we will be supporting this amazing programme. Our goal is not only to win on the field but above all to support those who need our help the most. We will show how powerful we are when we play together!", comments Mateusz Bonca, CEO of JLL.

The Foundation is currently waiting for the building permit and is moving forward with the project! The House will help the families of the longest-treated children, patients of the ‘Pomnik-Centrum for Children's Health’ Institute in Warsaw. The Third House - just like the two Ronald McDonald Houses in Krakow and Warsaw, which have been in operation for years - will be open to the entire families of patients in the oncology, haematology and neonatal wards and those cases where the treatment process requires patience and time.  From private spaces: 20 en-suite rooms, a shared kitchen, laundry, playroom, garden and library will be used by parents, healthy siblings of treated children, as well as other close family members, essential when the family needs to feel that everyone is close. Since the beginning of the Ronald McDonald Houses programme in Poland, from the creation of the first one in partnership with the University Children's Hospital in Krakow (2015) until the end of 2023, more than 1,100 families have lived in the Houses, which means more than 90,000 nights. The longest stay of a family in a Home lasted for 575 days, more than 1.5 years, without any trip to the family's place of origin. Thanks to the Foundation's work, a parent's presence with a sick child does not have to mean being separated from their loved ones.

The house will be built using CLT technology, on a modern foundation slab, as the Foundation's investment aims to combine the sustainability of the materials and the qualities of natural wood with controlled low CO2 solutions. The house will be ecological and energy-efficient, quiet and cosy so that you can feel at home from the moment you walk in.

The focus of the Ronald McDonald Foundation is on preventive health care aimed at children and care focused on the whole family of a young patient during a long illness involving a involving a hospital stay in a distant city. A hospitalised child should not be left alone or experience separation from a parent for whom there is not enough space in the ward. If a family is struggling with an illness, it is important that healthy siblings can remain close to the treated child and parents. As part of the world's most important Homes programme, the Ronald McDonald Foundation shows how public paediatric medicine can solve the problems faced by families of affected children.

"Our mission, “For the family to be together”, means creating solutions focused on the whole family of the hospitalised child. Home is a common cause for all adults who care about the quality of care children receive in hospitals. By building the third Home together with JLL and the real estate industry, we are showing how our programme is changing the standards of care in centres that play a key role on the medical map of Poland, where people come from all over the country and no one wonders where they will live, because the first need is the health of the child", says Katarzyna Rodziewicz, President and Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald Foundation.

The partnership with the Ronald McDonald Foundation, an organisation with extensive experience in supporting the families of hospitalised children and key public medical institutions, is evident at every stage of this year's tournament. The Ronald McDonald Foundation builds Homes that become a second home for families coming from afar for treatment and fills them with expert help from the team and volunteers. Families live in the Homes free of charge and for as long as their hospital stay lasts. The free nature of the assistance is determined by the enormous commitment of the dedicated partners.

This year's date of the tournament is symbolic, as it falls on National Warsaw Uprising Remembrance Day. Therefore, the memory of the heroes of the Uprising will be commemorated with a minute's silence.

Admission to the matches of the 13th JLL Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament of the Real Estate Industry is free.
