The 12th JLL Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament of the Real Estate Industry will be held on August 3 at the Monta Beach Volley Club in Warsaw. The goal of this year's event will be to support the construction of the Ronald McDonald House at the Children’s Memorial Health Institute. Property Forum is a media partner of this event.

Because no child should go through illness alone, the Ronald McDonald Foundation supports the families of those children in Poland and beyond who require long-term hospital care. The Foundation, whose mission statement is "So that the family can be together", has been focused for 21 years on the idea of family-centered care. This entails supporting the close families of children who are being treated. Each of the Foundation’s programs takes into account the vital role of the family because loved ones play a very important role in the child’s (patient’s) healing process. ‘So that the family can be together’ means the presence of a parent during the child's stay in the hospital, the consideration of the needs of adults accompanying the child in the ward, their siblings and grandparents, as well as the possibility of the family maintaining a relatively normal life during the process of long term hospitalization.

In order to give families the opportunity to be together with their children as they undergo treatment, the Foundation is building a third Ronald McDonald House in Poland, which will help patients of the Children’s Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw.

"Supporting the construction of Poland's third Ronald McDonald House as the charitable goal for this year's tournament allows us to continue a long-standing tradition of encouraging joint action by the real estate industry to benefit children in need. The House will provide a place for parents of young patients hospitalized in Poland’s largest paediatric hospital, which since the outbreak of war in Ukraine is also of strategic importance for providing medical care to the most seriously ill Ukrainian children", says Mateusz Bonca, CEO of JLL Poland.

The Ronald McDonald House at what will be the foundation’s third Children's Health Center will become a safe haven for families who have to travel far from home in order to receive the best medical care for their children at a hospital that is unique in Poland. The first Ronald McDonald House was established in 2015 at the University Children's Hospital in Kraków. The second House has been helping patients of the Children's Clinical Hospital UCK WUM in Warsaw since June 2021. During this time, both Houses have taken care of more than 80,000 overnight stays for families from across the country and further afield.

"On behalf of the entire team of the Ronald McDonald Foundation, I would like to express how grateful we are to all the tournament’s partners for understanding the need for immediate investment in the construction of the third House. It will provide safe and comfortable conditions for families staying with the most seriously ill children both from Poland and Ukraine, who come to the Children’s Memorial Health Institute for help",comments Katarzyna Rodziewicz, President and Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald Foundation.

Admission to the matches in the 12th JLL Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament of the Real Estate Industry is free. More information about the event is available at: www.turniejjll.pl.

Warsaw building permits now take 18 months

by Property Forum
Warsaw's residential land market is undergoing a shift in how plots are valued. Alongside location and development potential, the ability to move efficiently through the investment process has become a key factor. Land with a clear planning status and a valid building permit is becoming increasingly valuable. The current market environment requires much greater selectivity and a thorough assessment of investment risk, says Damian Karkośiński, Investment and Acquisitions Specialist at Walter Herz.
