Panattoni has appointed Mathieu Giguere as Director for Key Accounts & New Business Development. He will be responsible for acquiring new business and markets in light of the dynamic growth in online trade.

“More than one-third of all space we deliver is in e-commerce-related projects. According to the estimates, the global online trade grew by 20 per cent in the first quarter of this year, and online stores were visited by 40 per cent more unique users than the year before. Polish retailers, too, in their press releases have highlighted the dynamic growth in online sales, which partly compensates for the decline in turnover generated by brick-and-mortar stores. I am convinced that we are facing further growth in e-commerce channels, which means greater demand for warehouse space, in both large and smaller urban areas. Mathieu Giguere’s qualifications and professional experience will be a definite advantage, helping us rise up to our customers’ needs arising from the rapid growth in e-commerce,” explains Robert Dobrzycki, CEO Panattoni. As he then adds, Mathieu’s responsibilities will include key accounts and new business development in Poland and Europe, with a focus on e-commerce, new logistics concepts and formats, as well as the opportunities offered by the latest technology advancements.

Mathieu Giguere has a track record in real estate portfolio and transaction management spanning over more than 30 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His professional career began in 2000 at Cushman & Wakefield, where he managed the advisory department. In 2006, he was promoted to Managing Director and Head of the Alliance programme for EMEA markets (Europe, Middle East, Africa), and in 2008 he came back to lead the Capital Markets Team in Poland. Mathieu then moved to the client-side, working for German retailer Tchibo, where he was responsible for property portfolio management and retail expansion throughout Poland.

In 2014, he joined Amazon, where he stayed for four years. As Senior Manager/Head of Real Estate, he was responsible for the expansion and management of Amazon’s real estate portfolio in three different regions CEE, SEU and MENA. During his time at Amazon, Mathieu completed more than 25 transactions in 10 countries, totalling over 1.5 million square meters of logistic/fulfilment space and completed 11 BTS projects in Continental Europe with a total value in excess of €1 billion. He was also involved in several new format deployment, including the first Prime Now inner-city fulfilment and the first multi-level Amazon Robotic facilities in Continental Europe, such as Amazon’s biggest facility, delivered by Panattoni in Gliwice. Immediately prior to joining Panattoni, he served as Director of Real Estate Management at WeWork, with responsibility for the company’s expansion in the Central European markets.

Mathieu Giguere graduated in Business Administration (majoring in Finance) from HEC Montreal University, before moving to Europe where he passed the last 20 years.
