Panattoni Europe is to build a courier delivery distribution centre for DHL Parcel Polska. The cross-docking facility will feature close to 9,000 sqm and will be built in Radzymin. Construction works commenced at the beginning of the year and will be finished in October 2018. The lease was signed for 10 years, and the contract was mediated by the international advisory firm CBRE.

For e-commerce, a green cross-docking facility by Panattoni Europe is a must. The developer is to deliver a build-to-suit courier delivery distribution centre for DHL Parcel Polska – provider of shipping and courier delivery services for parcels and pallets, who also has solutions dedicated to e-commerce. The cross-docking facility with approx. 9,000 sqm and a non-standard height of 7.5 m will be specifically tailored to its function and solutions planned inside the building – including a sorter at the heart of operations in the main hall. The latter will take up 7,500 sqm and will feature approx. 108 gates for delivery vans and trucks. Office space will total close to 900 sqm across two storeys. The blueprints of the investment provide for approx. 23,000 sqm in service yards, roads and parking facilities. The entire complex will be situated near the existing Panattoni Park Radzymin. Construction works have already started and are scheduled for completion in October 2018. This is a build-to-lease investment – the lease was signed for 10 years, and the contract was mediated by the international advisory firm CBRE.

“The dynamic growth of e-commerce in Poland and increased demand for courier services in the Masovia region have created the need to build a modern shipment distribution centre. The construction of a warehouse with cutting-edge automation of logistics processes, which will help us maintain the high quality of our services and at the same time answer current needs and employee expectations, is an important step in the development of DHL Parcel,” said Agnieszka Świerszcz, Vice President for Operations at DHL Parcel Polska.

The facility for DHL Parcel will apply the principles of sustainable building in economic, environmental and social terms – it will undergo the BREEAM environmental certification process aiming for a Very Good rating. Apart from such important solutions as LED lighting and water recovery, the project will have facilities for charging electric vehicles in the future. Marek Dobrzycki, Managing Director, Panattoni Europe, commented: “Today the concept of sustainable growth is not simply an idea, but also a necessity. That is why Panattoni Europe is making every effort to implement its successive investments in line with the principles of environmentally-friendly building. Such as approach is appreciated by our tenants, and particularly by DHL Parcel, who have for years been successfully implementing their GOGREEN policy”.

The facility for DHL Parcel will be next door to Panattoni Park Radzymin – the developer’s complex located some 30 km from the Warsaw city centre, along the S8 expressway leading towards Białystok, next to the Radzymin Północny junction and the bypass of Marki. At full build-out, the complex will comprise some 55,000 sqm of modern and easily adaptable production and warehouse space.
