Polish warehouse developer MLP Group signed 48 contracts last year to lease a total of nearly 300,000 sqm of warehouse space, approximately 50% more than in the preceding year. The property portfolio managed by MLP Group has already exceeded 1 million sqm, with a further 2 million sqm under development.

In 2021, MLP Group signed 48 leases, commercialising close to 300,000 sqm of warehouse and office space in total. The space commercialised last year was approximately 50% larger compared with 2020 when about 200,000 sqm of commercial space was transacted.

Most of the new leases were for space at the MLP Poznań West logistics park. New tenants leased nearly 76,000 sqm of new space there. The other transactions were for space at MLP Business Park Poznań, MLP Poznań, MLP Czeladź, MLP Pruszków I, MLP Pruszków II, MLP Business Park Berlin and MLP Bucharest West.

"This past year was a very successful one for us. Looking at new leases only, we achieved an over 90% year-on-year growth in leased space. This means demand for warehouse space continues to soar. The figure also attests to our ability to deliver on the strategy that focuses on business expansion in our priority markets of Poland and Germany. Also, lease extensions and renewals were slightly above the prior-year level, showing the vast majority of our partners will stay with us longer", noted Agnieszka Góźdź, Head of the Sales Department at MLP Group S.A.

MLP Group expects the dynamic growth of the scale of its operations to continue in the coming years. ‘We will continue on the fast growth path particularly in Germany, where we constantly expand our project portfolio. First and foremost, we plan to enter new locations, including Idstein, Stuttgart and Munich, but also to expand our offer in the Ruhr. We aim to consolidate our market position in Austria, with two projects already underway. Also, we will soon be present in the Netherlands and Hungary. We are set to consistently expand our offer in key warehouse regions in Poland, which remains our core market. This should help double the scale of our operations by 2024,’ noted Radosław T. Krochta, President of the Management Board of MLP Group S.A.

MLP Group is implementing a strategic project to build solar PV farms on the roofs of its existing and new logistics parks. The green energy generated by these installations will be used primarily for internal consumption. This large-scale solar PV panel installation project is part of the Group’s environmental protection efforts. 80% of the project portfolio to be BREEAM certified as Excellent or Very Good, or as DGNB Gold or Platinum (in Germany and Austria). Another objective is a net-zero carbon footprint to be achieved within two to three years.
