Marriott International has signed an agreement with Valdarke d.o.o. to bring an Autograph Collection resort to the island of Cres in Croatia.

Expected to open in the second quarter of 2024, the new-build Autograph Collection property in the island of Cres is anticipated to offer 49 rooms and suites, two outdoor pools, a beach area with a bar, various dining options, and a spa.

"We are delighted to announce cooperation with Valdarke d.o.o. to bring the first hotel representing our Autograph Collection brand to the island of Cres. This deal reinforces the demand we’re seeing for international hotel brands in the region as well as the development of Marriott Bonvoy’s resort properties in Croatia. Croatia is a fantastic leisure and business destination, boasting coastal vistas and unrivalled nature,” said Silvija Lovreta, Senior Director South Eastern Europe International Hotel Development, Marriott International.

“Today, I proudly affix my signature to this contract, marking the beginning of an extraordinary chapter for our new hotel on Island Cres. With Autograph Collection's prestigious brand by our side, we are poised to create an unforgettable experience, where every detail reflects our commitment to excellence. Through energy-efficient design, responsible waste management, and local partnerships, we strive to minimize our ecological footprint. We invite travellers to embark on a voyage of exceptional hospitality, where the rare and extraordinary converge. I cannot wait to welcome guests to our Autograph Collection oasis on Island Cres,” stated Nikola Avram, owner of the project at Valdarke d.o.o.
