M7 Real Estate and Conan Lauterpacht, formerly Head of Corporate Venturing at Altus Group, have established M7 Structura, a new European-focused venture capital firm dedicated to real estate technology. M7 Structura announced the launch of its first fund, which will invest in revenue generating PropTech companies at the institutional seed investment to Series A fundraising stage.

The M7 Structura team, which is led by Conan Lauterpacht, brings together deep expertise in the real estate industry, as well as extensive experience in running PropTech companies and executing investments across VC, strategic and angel investing.

Conan is experienced in real estate technology as both an operator and investor and from the perspective of both start-up and incumbent. He sits on the board of Aprao, a development appraisal platform; was previously Head of Corporate Venturing at Altus Group; and is an active angel investor. Prior to this, he served as COO of Voyanta, a CRE data management & reporting solution, where he was responsible for business operations and sales, a Series A fundraise, and the subsequent sale of the business to Altus Group in 2014.

M7 Real Estate is a pan-European investor and asset manager specialising in multi-let real estate with AUM of circa €4.7 billion. M7 has continually been committed to the development of technology in the sector, having developed its own in-house software, which was successfully launched as an independent business, Coyote, in 2017. Since then, Coyote has become a multi-award winning commercial property software business, transforming the way real estate businesses buy and manage assets. Additionally, M7 has recently invested in IPSX, the first regulated stock exchange dedicated to trading shares in real estate, Jasper, a PropTech company providing access to high-quality commercial real estate investment opportunities and Unissu, the world’s only PropTech marketplace.

Conan Lauterpacht, Managing Partner of M7 Structura, said: “The potential for the deployment of technology throughout the real estate value chain is huge and by launching M7 Structura we plan to connect capital, technology and real estate to help unlock this potential. M7 is the ideal partner to launch this new venture with. It is a highly successful and entrepreneurial manager that has differentiated itself since inception with its use of technology. I look forward to building a world-class venture capital fund with them.”

Richard Croft, Executive Chairman of M7 Real Estate, added: “Technology has played a crucial role in the growth of M7 and we are therefore extremely excited to be partnering with Conan and forming M7 Structura. M7 has been a champion of technology from day one and we have always strived to be an organisation that embraces innovation and new ways of doing things. We believe very strongly in the massive role technology has to play in the future of our industry and we look forward to M7 Structura making its first investments under Conan’s stewardship in due course.”
