As part of the fight against the coronavirus, many firms have decided to temporarily cease their production to ensure the health of their employees.

The production halt at the Volkswagen plant in Slovakia has been extended until 19 April due to the falling demand and the limitations to supplies. Also, Jaguar Land Rover has suspended the production at its plant in Nitra at least until 14 April.

In Serbia, German chemical and consumer goods company Henkel has temporarily closed its manufacturing facilities in Krusevac until the middle of April. Logistics will continue to operate at a reduced capacity. The decisions have been made also due to the dropped market demand related to the economic impact of the pandemic.
