Asking prices for homes in Romania were up by an average of 1.6% to €1,435 per sqm in February after growing by 0.9% in the previous month, according to property classifieds platform Imobiliare.ro. 


The interest of home buyers is still high, and transactions are taking place, although some prices corrections are expected especially for homes purchased via bank loans, suggested Daniel Crainic, Marketing Director of Imobiliare.ro. 

In Bucharest, asking prices were up 3.7% year-on-year to an average of €1,500 per sqm by February 2023. In Cluj-Napoca home prices were up 6% on an annual basis, while in Brașov the prices were up by an annual rate of €1,572 per sqm. 

Homes in Constanța recorded an annual gain of 3.1% to €1,464 per sqm, while in Iași they were up 11.2% to €1,366 per sqm. 

On the Timișoara-based market, asking prices were up 4.9% year-on-year to €1,464 per sqm.
