Colliers has appointed Melinda Kovacs as new Head of Landlord Office Agency for Hungary in Budapest.

Melinda was earlier Leasing Manager and part of the Management Team of Skanska in Hungary and brings a vast experience in leasing modern office buildings. In her role at Skanska, she has been instrumental in leasing Mill Park (securing IT Services and Cognizant), Nordic Light 1-3 and Green House to international tenants. Before Skanska, she was an office agent at DTZ for many years.

In Colliers she will be responsible for overseeing and building out the Landlord Leasing activities including the leasing of Codic’s Green Court Office and Trigranit’s Millenium Gardens. Melinda started her new job at the beginning of June replacing Michael Smithing, who stepped back from that position but will stay on through August as Director of Green Building Advisory Services.

Mr. Smithing leaves Colliers after serving the company for over 25 years in a variety of different positions. He was Managing Partner for over 9 years and was also responsible for launching Colliers current operation in Bratislava, Slovakia. Michael was a pioneer of the Budapest office market and has played an instrumental role in the development of both Colliers and the local office market. Mr. Smithing was also a pioneer of the Green Building movement in the region with responsibility for developing Colliers regional Green Building Advisory practice which has certified almost 1 million square meters of space in some 60 projects.
