French real estate group Catinvest says it obtained the building permits to start the expansion of Craiova-based Electroputere Mall. The company will extent the food court with five new restaurants and add 5,500 sqm of retail spaces.

At the same time, Catinvest is preparing to deliver a new office and retail building in the complex as part of an €39 million investment, adding 9,000 sqm of retail and entertainment spaces, as well as 16,000 sqm of offices.

“The second tranche of our 25.000 sqm mixed-use building will be completed in a few weeks. The retail part of this development is already 92% leased. It is therefore the perfect moment to start the construction process of this new extension project and it is really exciting to see Electroputere Parc’s commercial and office areas grow stronger every year,” says Bertrand Catteau, President of Catinvest Group.

Catinvest has secured financing worth €58.5 million for 2021-2022 for future expansions of Electroputere Parc and the construction of new retail, office and co-working spaces, as well as aparthotels, with a total area of 46.000 sqm.

The group’s portfolio comprises more than 500,000 sqm of spaces in France and Eastern Europe. In Romania, the company manages other shopping centres in Bucharest and Constanța.
