French property group Catinvest has opened a second mixed-use building within its Electroputere Parc project based in Craiova.

The company added a 12,700 sqm of offices and retail spaces, as part of an investment that exceeded €40 million. The new building includes 8,300 sqm of offices and 4,400 sqm of retail facilities, alongside new underground parking spaces for tenants and customers.

With this new extension, the West Wing of Electroputere Parc has the capacity to accommodate around 2,000 employees in office spaces.

“Despite the challenging times we are all still facing due to the pandemic, we are seeing significant interest from retail tenants as well as offices, driven by people’s and business’ need to return to normal as soon as possible,” said Jibril Semour, General Manager of Catinvest Eastern Europe.

At the same time, the company continues works on the expansion of Electroputere Mall, which should be completed by March 2022. Some 5,500 sqm of new retail spaces will be added, alongside 1,000 sqm of outdoor terraces for restaurants.

Further development plans include additional retail, offices and other services such as co-working spaces and aparthotels with a total investment budget of almost €60 million over the next 2-3 years.

Catinvest’s Romanian portfolio also includes shopping centres in Bucharest and Constanța.
