Amazon continues to invest in Poland and will create over 1,000 new permanent jobs in Swiebodzin within a year of opening. Its tenth facility in Poland will include advanced Amazon Robotics technology, with 3,000 robotic drive units supporting the company’s associates.

Amazon has confirmed its plans for a 193,000 sqm Fulfillment Center in Świebodzin. This is the company’s tenth investment in Poland and its first in the Lubuskie region. Last year, Amazon launched operations at two new sites in the country – in Gliwice and in Łódź, bringing its total permanent workforce in the country to 18,000.

This new investment will add more than 1,000 new jobs to Amazon’s existing network in Poland. Employees hired at the new Amazon facility will pick, pack and ship small items such as books, electronics and consumer goods to customers. Associates will work alongside innovative technologies, including 3,000 Amazon Robotics drive units which will be used to help fulfill customer orders. These specialized robots slide under shelves stocked with products, lift them and move them around the Fulfillment Center, helping speed up order processing times and enabling both a better associate and customer experience. This will be Amazon’s third robotics facility in Poland, joining those already opened in Kolbaskowo near Szczecin and Gliwice.

“I am proud to announce our new investment in Świebodzin as it will enable us to provide our services to a wider group of customers while also empowering local businesses to be even more successful at selling on Amazon. Poland is a very important market for us. We have been present here for over six years, investing heavily and supporting local communities over this period. We are looking forward to making a significant contribution towards developing the Lubuskie region by creating new permanent jobs and supporting local communities. So far, Amazon has created over 18,000 permanent jobs in Poland, offering competitive wages, comprehensive benefits from day one and broad career development opportunities in our fast-growing global organization”, said Marian Sepesi, Regional Director at Amazon.

"I am glad that Amazon has chosen Swiebodzin for its next investment. High-quality jobs created in the new logistic center are particularly important for the region. I believe that thanks to this cooperation our city will be able to fully use its potential", said Tomasz Sielicki, Mayor of the City of Świebodzin.

Amazon has been operating in Poland since 2014 and has 9 Fulfillment Centers in Sady near Poznań, Sosnowiec, Kołbaskowo near Szczecin, Bielany Wrocławskie (where two facilities are located), Pawlikowice near Łódź, Łódź, Okmiany near Boleslawiec and Gliwice, and at its Development Centre in Gdańsk and corporate and Amazon Web Services offices in Warsaw.
