Henri Wilmes is Chief Investment Officer for A&O Hotels and Hostels (A&O). Since January 2018, he leads A&O´s development throughout Europe via acquisitions and new lease agreements and oversees the asset management of the existing portfolio. A&O is Europe´s largest hostel chain with a portfolio of 34 properties located in six countries. With TPG Real Estate as Partner, A&O is living an exciting moment as a company to significantly grow its presence in Europe and further consolidate its position as Europe´s leading hostel investor, developer and operator. Current main growth markets for A&O are in the Mediterranean and CEE regions. Before joining A&O, Henri worked as Vice President - Hotel Acquisitions for London and Regional Properties (L+R) where he led and was involved in transactions, debt financing and restructurings for a combined value in excess of GBP 2.5bn. Henri’s involvement in the execution of asset management strategies led to L+R receiving the HAMA Europe Asset Management Achievement Award 2016. Previous to joining L+R, Henri worked for five years in financial and strategic advisory to the real estate and hospitality sectors in Spain with a focus on M&A and debt restructuring. Henri is a MSc in Finance graduate from London Business School and holds a BSc in Hospitality Management from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne.
