Czech shopping centre revenues exceed pre-crisis levels in August

The figures describing the performance of shopping centres that Cushman & Wakefield has available (primarily for small to medium-sized centres in Czech regions) show a positive trend. Following the full reopening of shops in shopping centres this May and June, both revenue and footfall were higher than the figures from the same period last year and the trend carried over to the summer holidays. Compared with 2020, July revenue grew by 3% and August revenue by 11%. Compared with the pre-crisis year 2019, July revenue was 2% lower, but in August it was almost 7% higher.

BIG CEE raises €55 million at Israeli stock exchange for Balkans expansion

LCP starts expansion of EMKA Retail Park

The expansion of Galeria EMKA in Koszalin has started - it will be a new retail park, which will be connected to the existing facility. The new phase will have 9 tenants with an area of approx. 10,000 sqm. The LCP has just signed a contract for the general contracting of the EMKA Retail Park project and the main contractor will be MIRBUD S.A. The planned commencement of works will start in the upcoming week. Currently, the area is being prepared for the first stage of works, which will be the adaptation of the existing infrastructure, and then earthworks will begin, which will take another 2 months.

Trei opens its 27th Vendo Park in Poland

Trei Real Estate GmbH, an international developer and asset holder for residential and retail real estate, has opened its 27th retail park of the Vendo Park brand in Poland. The property is located in Inowrocław in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The town lies on the bank of the River Noteć 100 kilometres north-east of Poznań, has a population of around 70,000 and is renowned for its saltwater baths. The new retail park, which is let to nine retailers as well as to a supermarket, provides a total leasing area of 5,000 square metres and a total of 242 car parking spots. The investment volume adds up to a total of €6.4 million..

New leases

  • The company PKB Inwest Budowa has announced that the retail chain Lidl Polska will be a tenant of the newly developed Retail Park in Garwolin. The investment will include the construction of 3 buildings with a total area of 11,045 sqm. GLA. One of of them with an area of over 2,100 sqm will be occupied by a Lidl Polska shop.
  • Peek & Cloppenburg has chosen the Szczecin Galaxy shopping centre to make its debut in West Pomerania in Poland. The brand's only shop in this part of the country will be almost two thousand square metres in size.
  • The Enel-med clinic chain is opening two new outlets in Wrocław: 510 sqm in Sagittarius Business House and 1,374 sqm in the Infinity office building.

New appointments

  • Angelika Majkowska has taken up the position of HR director at Apsys Poland. Angelika, who has been with the company since 2013, will be responsible for complex HR policies in an organisation with a structure involving more than 19 teams in various locations.
  • Filip Krstičević is joining iO Partners in Zagreb as Regional Manager, focusing on leasing and land deals across the region. With a strong track record of acquiring land sites and developing residential and commercial properties in both Croatia and Australia, Filip is well placed to support international investors entering the Croatian market.
  • The Management Board of Globe Trade Centre S.A. has announced that on 18th of March, 2024 the company accepted Barbara Sikora's decision to resign from the company's authorities.
