Crowne Plaza signs first hotel in Budapest
IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) has signed a management agreement with Granit Polus Group for a compelling property to be re-branded to Crowne Plaza Budapest in 2021. The hotel, located in downtown Pest in the same building complex as the Westend City Centre shopping centre, is currently operated by Hilton under the name Hilton Garden Inn Budapest City Centre.

Apex Alliance to invest €90 million in four Bucharest hotels
Lithuanian company Apex Alliance, the owner of the Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Bucharest’s old town, will invest €90 million in four new hotels on the Romanian market. The hotels will operate under Marriot International and Hilton World Wide brands.

Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town to open this year
The first Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Romania is to be opened by end-2017 in Bucharest. The 201-room hotel will be located within an historic listed building in the city centre. Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town will be administered by hotel management company Apex Alliance Hotel Management.

Hilton to introduce new brand in Budapest by 2018
Hilton has reached a franchise agreement with Accent Hotel Management to open Hilton Garden Inn Budapest City Centre. The 214-guestroom hotel is set to become Hilton’s third hotel in Budapest by 2018.

Singapore-based M&L buys Prague hotel from Blackstone
Blackstone has sold the Hilton Prague Old Town hotel and Gestin Centrum, an adjacent 6,900 sqm mixed use commercial building, to Singapore-based real estate investment group M&L Hospitality. JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality group advised Blackstone on the sale.

New leases
- Palas Campus, Romania's largest office building, is set to host the new regional hub for BCR starting this autumn. The HQ will occupy a surface area of approximately 1,000 sqm and will serve clients from the local county and adjacent regions.
- Teva Pharmaceuticals has relocated its offices to Budapest-based Corvin Skypark. The deal covering 653 sqm was brokered by iO Partners.
- Nowy Styl, a European leader in office furniture solutions, has signed a lease extension at the Oxygen Park office complex. The tenant occupies approximately 550 sqm within the project.
New appointments
- NEPI Rockcastle has nominated Zelda Roscherr as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Roscherr will stand for election at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in May 2026. André van der Veer, currently an Independent Non-Executive Director, will retire at the conclusion of the AGM and will not seek re-election.
- Panattoni has promoted Nick Cripps to the position of Head of International Capital Markets for Europe, the UK, the Middle East, and India. Based in London, Cripps is tasked with leading the firm’s global capital markets strategy across 18 diverse markets. He joined Panattoni five years ago as Head of UK Capital Markets.
- PSN has expanded its acquisitions team with the arrival of Martin Šrytr as Business Development Manager. Most recently, he served as Real Estate Expansion Manager at Twistcafe Group, supporting the company’s EMEA growth. His previous experience includes consulting at Cushman & Wakefield, advisory roles at Prochazka & Partners, and management positions within IWG.
