Polish developer Scallier opened a new retail park with a leasable area of 10,000 sqm in Ploiești.

FunShop Park Ploiești features a standalone supermarket spanning 2,300 sqm, alongside a diverse range of brands.

Beyond retail, the park also provides various services, including dining options and a chain-operated fitness club.

Wojciech Jurga, Managing Partner at Scallier, said: "Romania's current economic conditions — with robust growth and a large domestic consumer market, the second largest in Central and Eastern Europe — are highly favorable for the development of new retail facilities."

Also, he compared the pace of local retail park developments to that of Poland.

"A strong consumer-driven economy creates high demand for local shopping centers. This is confirmed by the consistently low vacancy rates and the rapid pace of commercial leasing," added the Managing Partner.

Since 2021, the company has completed and opened FunShop projects in several other Romanian cities, including Roșiorii de Vede, Focșani, Turda, Vaslui, Timișoara, Moșnița Nouă, and Arad. Their combined leasable area stands at over 70,000 sqm.
