Bence Buday has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the HIPA Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency, effective 28 July 2026. His appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for the agency, with a strong focus on further strengthening HIPA's strategic role, enhancing its operational excellence, and reinforcing Hungary's competitiveness as an investment destination.

Operating under the supervision of the State Secretary for Foreign Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (GEM), HIPA is a key institution within Hungary's economic development framework. The agency's mission is to attract high-value-added foreign direct investment to Hungary while supporting the investment projects and growth ambitions of Hungarian companies.

In the period ahead, HIPA will continue to strengthen its strategic capabilities, improve organisational efficiency, and further enhance the high-quality services it provides to investors.

Bence Buday is a strategic executive with nearly twenty years of senior leadership experience in Hungary and internationally. Before joining HIPA, he served as Deputy CEO of the Wallis Group, where he was responsible for corporate strategy and portfolio development. He was also a Member of the Board of Directors at WING, one of the leading real estate developers and investors in the Central European real estate market

Earlier in his career, he worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He earned his MBA at INSEAD, further broadening his international business perspective. Throughout his career, he has been recognised for driving strategic transformation, organisational development and long-term value creation.

Commenting on his appointment, Bence Buday said: "It is a great honour to have been entrusted with the leadership of HIPA. I firmly believe that a professional and strategic investment promotion agency has a vital role to play in strengthening Hungary's competitiveness by supporting both new investments coming to Hungary and the growth ambitions of Hungarian companies. Our foremost priority in the years ahead is to further strengthen HIPA's strategic capabilities, reinforce its professional excellence, and ensure that we continue to deliver fast, high-quality and client-focused services to our investors and partners. I am confident that, by building on the expertise, commitment and international experience of the HIPA team, we will successfully achieve these objectives."
