Gridarch has granted early access to tenants of Phase III halls at Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park, allowing entry before building permit approval. DP World, the logistics operator for BMW Group, has begun installing technologies and preparing operations for the distribution centre.
DP World is now installing racking systems, fitting out office spaces, and testing operational systems within the halls. The company has also started recruiting employees for the facility, which will offer up to 750 positions when fully operational.
The three new halls cover 124,000 sqm and will serve as BMW Group's distribution centre for automotive components and spare parts. Building permit approval and pilot operations are planned for summer 2026, with the grand opening following later.
"Our goal was never simply to build three industrial halls, it was to create an environment that meets the highest standards of world-class distribution," said Tomáš Novotný, CEO of Gridarch. Robert Sgariboldi, Country Manager at DP World Czech Republic, added: "Early access will allow us to be well prepared for the launch of pilot operations. Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park is a strategic location due to its combination of air, rail, and road transport."
