Drees & Sommer, the consultancy for real estate, industry, and infrastructure, has announced the appointment of Christoph Schmidt as the new Managing Director of its Hungary operations.

This strategic move comes as the company expands its presence in the Hungarian market.

Schmidt steps into the role previously held by Philipp Gansch, who has transitioned to the Drees & Sommer Group partnership to focus on corporate and business development across several European countries, including Hungary.

In his new position, Schmidt will be specialized in the automotive and industrial sectors and will collaborate with Ákos Koloszár, who also manages Drees & Sommer’s business activities in Hungary.

“I am pleased to join our team in Hungary and contribute to our success in this market, particularly in the automotive and industry segments,” said Schmidt. “By leveraging our expertise and strong network in these sectors in Germany and Austria, I look forward to further developing these segments in Hungary and the wider region, as well as supporting the implementation of the latest industry innovations driven by our Group.”

Schmidt brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as the Lead of Automotive for the CEE region and Austria for the past two years.

He has been with Drees & Sommer since 2017, previously working as a Senior Project Manager at Drees & Sommer Austria. His experience includes leading industrial and real estate projects and a focus on Key Account Management.
