Cushman & Wakefield Echinox has strengthened its Capital Markets team by promoting Alexandru Mitrache as Head of Transactions - Land & Investment.

Alexandru Mitrache has been the Head of Land Development department within the company for the past three years, offering consultancy for the development and disposal of commercial land. Alexandru holds an MBA at the University of Sheffield, while also being a graduate of the Romanian-American University in Bucharest.

At Cushman & Wakefield Echinox, Alexandru was involved in a series of transactions of land plots suitable for mixed developments with an important real estate investment component. Over the past two years, Alexandru has been involved in transactions with a cumulative value of about €100 million, while currently working at a portfolio of projects valued above that threshold.

Oana Iliescu, Managing Director, C&W Echinox: "In the last three years since joining our team, Alexandru managed local and institutional clients and has fully proved that he possesses the professional skills and personal qualities needed to close out complex transactions. Alexandru will continue to coordinate the Land department, but he will also engage in transactions alongside the Investment Team. "

Tim Wilkinson, Partner, Capital Markets, C&W Echinox: "Alexandru is highly experienced in real estate transactions and it is only natural to expand his attributions by including investment properties in his portfolio. He will further strengthen our senior team by helping us manage the growing number of important mandates that we have been entrusted with by our clients.”

Alexandru Mitrache, Head of Transactions - Land & Investment C&W Echinox: "I am glad that I will have the opportunity to be involved in investment transactions, which represents a later stage of the capitalization of land plots. In this new position, I will have a broader view of the life cycle of real estate assets and I will be able to bring added value to our clients.”

The real estate investment market is very dynamic at present, with positive prospects for the next period as well. There are a number of representative assets that are set to be transacted, suitable for a wide range of investors: both for large groups that can enter the Romanian market and also for existing investors that are aiming to consolidate their positions. Subject to a relatively stable macroeconomic and political climate, we expect this year to bring a record volume of transactions.”
